Dharmendra Pradhan Recognizes Educational Trailblazers with National Award for Innovations in Educational Administration

In a prestigious ceremony held in New Delhi, Dharmendra Pradhan, the Union Minister for Education and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, bestowed the National Award for Innovations and Good Practices in Educational Administration upon 65 exemplary district and block education officers from across the nation. The event, graced by key education officials and dignitaries, aimed to acknowledge and celebrate the outstanding contributions of these educational leaders in shaping a transformative learning environment.

During the program, Minister extended his heartfelt congratulations to the recipients, commending their dedication to enhancing the lives of students and their innovative efforts to make school learning more dynamic. The Minister praised NIEPA for establishing a platform that fosters the sharing and recognition of innovative educational initiatives and best practices nationwide. He expressed confidence in NIEPA’s commitment to accelerating the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) at the grassroots level and building the capacities of school administrators.

Aligning with the spirit of NEP 2020, the minister urged everyone to collaborate with a sense of mission and purpose, working towards transforming the current generation into global citizens and realizing the vision of a developed India by 2047.

Shedding light on the vastness of the Indian education system, with its 10 million teachers and 260 million students, he emphasized the crucial role of leadership, innovation, and the introduction of best practices. He highlighted the responsibilities of education administrators, emphasizing their vital role in managing human resources and enforcing a code of conduct for the successful implementation of innovative practices.

The National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA) instituted the National Award for Innovations & Good Practices in Educational Administration for district- and block-level education officers in 2014. The scheme encourages innovations and good practices at the grassroots level to enhance the functioning of the public education system. The awards not only recognize the efforts of educational leaders but also aim to document and disseminate innovative practices in educational administration at the district and block levels.

The award presentation function coincided with a two-day national conference on innovations and good practices in educational administration, organized by NIEPA in New Delhi. The event provided a platform for officers to showcase and discuss their innovations, contributing to the creation of a culture and ecosystem of innovations in educational administration at the field level.
