To rank among the top 10 smart cities, Panchkula Municipal Administration is about to begin a massive cleaning campaign.

The Panchkula Administration is preparing to start a 15-day “mega sanitation push” across the district from August 1 to August 15 in an effort to join the league of India’s top 10 smart cities. The cleanliness initiative, which will award awards to the three cleanest wards, will be run by a total of 1000 ITBP officials and volunteers from Nirankari Mission, along with the Resident Welfare Association and NGOs.

Gian Chand Gupta, the speaker of the Haryana Assembly, and Mayor Kulbhushan Goyal met with representatives of the resident welfare association, park development groups, non-governmental organisations, and social activists on Saturday at the PWD Guest House in Sector 1. Creating a clean, green, and beautiful Panchukula was on the agenda for the gathering. To that goal, participants made a variety of proposals.

In addition to the 1000 ITBP officers, volunteers from the Nirankari Mission, 688 safai karamcharis from the Municipal Corporation, MC and HUDA officers, and MC councillors, he said, would take part in the cleanliness push. Speaker Gupta declared that Rs 50 lakh from his voluntary fund would be used to use tractor trolleys to clear out bulk rubbish and debris from Industrial Area phases 1 and 2.

According to Gupta, the prize money will be used to develop that specific ward. “I want Panchkula to be one of the top 10 smart cities in the nation. He asserted that in compared to Chandigarh, we are greener.
