Ravindra Kumar Appointed as Director-Operations Role at NTPC Limited

NTPC Limited has announced the official appointment of Ravindra Kumar as Director (Operations). Kumar commenced his duties on Monday bringing with him a wealth of experience and a distinguished career spanning over 34 years.

His appointment to this position was approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), a testament to his exceptional leadership and extensive background in the energy sector. He will hold this pivotal role until his superannuation on October 31, 2027, or until further orders are issued, whichever comes earlier.

Starting his journey with NTPC Limited in 1989 as a Graduate Engineer Trainee officer after graduating with a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from BIT Sindri, he has since been an integral part of the company’s growth and success. Over the years, he has garnered unparalleled expertise in Commissioning, O&M, Engineering, and Project Management.

Notably, Kumar has played pivotal roles within the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) function at NTPC’s Kahalgaon Project. As the Chief Technical Officer (CTO), he spearheaded all Engineering, erection, commissioning, and O&M activities for the project’s 660 MW unit.

In addition to his roles at Kahalgaon, Kumar also served as the CEO of Patratu Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited.
