Wipro has announced the appointment of Srinivas Pallia as its new Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director. Pallia, a seasoned Wipro veteran, will assume his new role with immediate effect, taking over from Thierry Delaporte following his departure as CEO.
With over three decades of experience within Wipro, Srinivas Pallia brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his new position. He will be based in New Jersey and will report directly to Wipro’s chairman, Rishad Premji. The timing of this leadership transition is strategic, coinciding with Wipro’s upcoming release of its fourth-quarter and full-year earnings for the fiscal year 2023-24 scheduled for April 19.
This change in leadership follows a period of challenges for the company, including the departure of senior executives such as Chief Financial Officer Jatin Dalal and Chief Growth Officer Stephanie Trautman last year. Pallia’s appointment is seen as a pivotal moment for Wipro, as it navigates the evolving landscape of the IT industry.
Prior to his appointment as CEO and Managing Director, Srinivas Pallia served as the CEO for the ‘Americas 1’ region, which is Wipro’s largest and fastest-growing market. Pallia holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering and a master’s in management studies from the prestigious Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. Furthermore, he has enriched his leadership acumen by completing executive programs at renowned institutions such as Harvard Business School and McGill Executive Institute.
