The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has cleared the appointments of two IAS officers to senior positions in the Ministry of Finance under the Central Staffing Scheme.
Swagat Ranveerchand Bhandari, a 2010-batch IAS officer, has been appointed as Director in the Department of Financial Services. Her central deputation will be for five years, ending on July 29, 2029, including both ex-cadre and CSS postings.
Bhandari is currently serving as Officer on Special Duty at IIT Kanpur, a position she took up in July 2024. Prior to that, she was the Managing Director of the Kerala Water Authority, where she led key water supply and sanitation projects across the state.
In a separate appointment, Isha Khosla, a 2011-batch IAS officer, has been posted as Director in the Department of Expenditure, also for a five-year tenure. Her deputation was recommended by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), and the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has instructed that she be relieved from her current responsibilities immediately to take charge in New Delhi.
