West Bengal Government Implements Key Bureaucratic Reshuffle

In a strategic move to optimize departmental efficiency and governance, the West Bengal Government has executed a significant reshuffle, transferring and appointing several key officials across various departments. This administrative change is expected to bolster the state’s administrative capabilities and improve service delivery.

The recent transfers and appointments involve several key officials across various departments:

Joyoshi Das Gupta, an IAS officer of 2010 batch, currently serving as Officer-on-Special Duty in the Personnel & Administrative Reforms Department, has been appointed as the Senior Special Secretary of the Technical Education, Training & Skill Development Department.

2010 batch IAS officer Siladitya Basu Ray, who was the Senior Special Secretary in the Higher Education Department, will now take on the role of Senior Special Secretary for the Public Enterprises & Industrial Reconstruction (PE & IR) Department.

Amit Roy Chaudhury IAS, formerly the Senior Special Secretary in the Food and Supplies Department, is transferred to the position of Senior Special Secretary in the Higher Education Department.

Dr. Subrata Gupta, 2011 bath IAS officer, previously serving as the Additional Chief Secretary for the Food Processing Industries and Horticulture Department, will now lead the Science and Technology and Bio-Technology Department as Additional Chief Secretary.

Hirdyesh Mohan IAS, who was the Additional Chief Secretary for the Science and Technology and Bio-Technology Department, has been appointed as Additional Chief Secretary for the Mass Education Extension and Library Services Department.

Khalil Ahmed IAS, previously the Principal Secretary of the Paschimanchal Unnayan Affairs Department, is now the Principal Secretary of the Food Processing Industries and Horticulture Department.

Rajesh Kumar Sinha IAS, who held the position of Principal Secretary for the Housing Department with additional charge of Youth Services and Sports Department, will now also serve as the CEO of the Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority (KMDA).

Dr. Godala Kiran Kumar IAS, Officer-On-Special Duty at the Netaji Subhas Administrative Training Institute (NSATI), has been appointed as the Special Secretary of the Consumer Affairs Department.

Saikat Ganguly WBCS(Exe), currently the Project Director of the DRDC in Nadia, will be transferred and posted as the Additional District Magistrate of Nadia, with additional responsibility as Project Director of DRDC.
