Three senior IAS officers with extensive experience at the Centre have been appointed to key positions in the newly formed Delhi Chief Minister’s Office. This move further signals the firm grip of the BJP-led Union government on the Capital’s administration.
According to an order issued by the Services department of the Delhi government, Dr. Madhu Rani Teotia, a 2008-batch AGMUT cadre officer, has been appointed as Secretary to Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. Additionally, Sandeep Kumar Singh and Ravi Jha, both 2011-batch officers from the Central cadre, have been named Special Secretaries in the CMO.
Bureaucratic sources highlight that all three officers have held significant roles in various Union ministries, with prior experience working closely with senior ministers. Teotia has previously served as Personal Secretary to two successive Ministers of State for Women and Child Development between 2019 and 2021 before her transfer to the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. She also has prior experience in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
Meanwhile, both Singh and Jha have been associated with key Union ministries and have worked as personal secretaries to senior ministers, including Minister for Culture and Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and Commerce and Industries Minister Piyush Goyal.
