Dr Ambedkar Centre of Excellence is schedules to be launched across the country on April 22, 2022. The centre will be set up in 31 central universities to provide coaching facilities to students belonging to scheduled caste for civil services examination conducted by the Union Public Services Commission.

The launch programme will be organized at the Shatabdi Krishi Prekshagrih, Institute of Agriculture Sciences. The centre will be launched by Virendra Kumar, the Social Justice and Empowerment Minister, the Government of India. Vice-chancellors of all the other varsities will also participate in the launch programme.
Two MoU will be signed between the Dr Ambedkar Foundation and implementing universities for establishing the centres and Dr Ambedkar Chairs. Each centre will be having 100 seats for coaching and over 33 per cent of total sanctioned seats will probably be given to eligible female candidates belonging to the SC category. Separate classrooms, library, WiFi connectivity and other required infrastructure are proposed at centres to ensure smooth functioning.
