The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued show-cause notices to 29 schools across six states for violating affiliation bye-laws, following surprise inspections conducted in December. The inspections revealed enrolment irregularities and non-compliance with academic and infrastructural standards.
The board reported instances of schools enrolling students beyond their actual attendance records and endorsing non-attending enrolments, alongside deficiencies in meeting prescribed academic and infrastructure requirements.
“CBSE has taken serious note of these violations and has issued show-cause notices to all 29 schools involved. Each school has been provided with a copy of the respective inspection report and has been directed to submit their replies within 30 days,” stated a CBSE official.
Among the schools receiving notices, 18 are located in Delhi, followed by three in Uttar Pradesh, and two each in Karnataka, Bihar, Gujarat, and Chhattisgarh. Notable institutions include Hope Hall Foundation School in RK Puram, Delhi, Sri Chaitanya Techno School in Bengaluru, and Nirman High School in Ahmedabad.
State-Wise Distribution of Schools:
- Delhi: 18 schools, including Hope Hall Foundation School, Oxford Public School, and Central Academy International School.
- Karnataka: Sri Chaitanya Techno School and Narayana Olympiad School, Bengaluru.
- Uttar Pradesh: Raj English School, Happy Model School, and St. K.C. Memorial English School, Varanasi.
- Bihar: Satyam International and Eklavya Educational Complex, Patna.
- Gujarat: Nirman High School and The New Tulip International School, Ahmedabad.
- Chhattisgarh: Modern Educational Academy and Intelligent Public School, Bilaspur.
This is not the first time CBSE has taken such action. In September and December 2024, the board issued show-cause notices to 27 and 34 schools, respectively, for similar violations.
Schools have been directed to address the findings and respond to the board within the stipulated timeframe. Failure to provide satisfactory explanations could result in further disciplinary action, including withdrawal of affiliation.
The CBSE remains committed to upholding quality education and ensuring compliance with its affiliation regulations.
