Maharashtra Education Minister signs MoU with Infosys

Varsha Gaikwad, Maharashtra Education Minister has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with an Indian multinational information technology company, Infosys to help build digital infrastructure in government schools. An MoU has been signed for this springboard programme to exchange digital literacy and reskilling.

Commenting on this agreement, Varsha Gaikwad said that Infosys will be providing a learning management system for monitoring and distribution of educational courses for teachers and students. She further added that the IT firm would also help in providing a digital platform. Along with the regular course material, the learners will have access to additional industry-oriented courses. Moreover, the teachers can also access courses for reskilling and upskilling.

Gaikwad also said, “We have insisted the Infosys team provide assistance in our plans to improve the digital infrastructure in Maharashtra government schools.”

“We have also introduced Maharashtra State Education Technology Forum as an open platform for the free exchange of views on the use of technology to enhance learning capacity,” Gaikwad added.
