Jagadesh Kumar, Chairman, University Grants Commission on Thursday announced that the UGC has decided to introduce the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) for postgraduate programs from this year.

This decision comes weeks after the UGC chairman announced that instead of class 12 scores, CUET scores will be mandatory for enrolling in 45 central universities. These varsities can however fix their minimum eligibility criteria.
Kumar said, “CUET for PG admission will also be introduced from the 2022 academic session. The entrance test is scheduled in the third week of July and the application process will begin today and will conclude on June 18, 2022.” He further added, “The exam will be conducted in English as well as Hindi in Computer-based Test Mode.”
So far, more than 10.46 lakh candidates have registered for CUET-UG. The last date for CUET-UG registration is May 22.
