815 eSewa Kendras Established, Enabling Easy Access to Judiciary

A total of 815 eSewa Kendras have been established under 25 High Courts, providing a convenient way for stakeholders to access citizen-centric services and information related to court cases.

The goal of this initiative is to bridge the digital divide by offering e-filing services to lawyers and litigants. The eSewa Kendras are located at the entry points of court complexes, making it easier for those seeking assistance, information, or facilitation regarding e-filing.

This initiative began as a pilot project covering one District Court and all High Courts, but it is now being expanded to cover all court complexes across the country.

On October 30th, 2020, India’s first e-Resource Center, ‘Nyay Kaushal’, was inaugurated in Nagpur, Maharashtra. This center will facilitate the e-filing of cases in the Supreme Court, High Courts, and District Courts throughout the country.

It will also assist lawyers and litigants in accessing online e-Courts services, and it will be particularly helpful for those who cannot afford advanced technology.

The benefits of this initiative include time savings, reduced travel, and lower costs associated with e- filing cases and conducting virtual hearings, scanning, and accessing e-Courts services across the country.
