NTPC Limited has announced the appointment of IAS Diwakar Nath Misra as Government Nominee Director on its Board. Misra is currently serving as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Power, Government of India. The company informed the stock exchanges that the President of India has appointed him to the position.
Misra’s tenure as Government Nominee Director will continue until the end of his tenure in the Ministry of Power or until further orders, whichever is earlier. His appointment brings his experience in public administration and government policy to the board of the public sector power company.
A 2000-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Assam-Meghalaya cadre, Misra has more than two decades of experience in public administration, policy formulation and institutional governance. He currently serves as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Power, where his responsibilities are linked to the Government of India’s power sector administration.
