Major Reshuffle in Central Government: Key Appointments and In-situ Elevations

The Central Government has undertaken a major reshuffle in key bureaucratic positions, including elevations to the rank of Additional Secretary in various ministries. The appointments aim to bring in experienced and capable officers to lead critical departments. Here is a breakdown of the major reshuffle:

Appointments in the rank of Additional Secretary (Government of India):

  • IAS officer Chandra Bhushan Kumar has been appointed as the Additional Secretary and Mission Director, Jal Jeevan Mission, Department of Drinking Water & Sanitation. The 1995-batch officer of UT cadre is replacing IAS officer Vikas Sheel, who has been appointed Executive Director, Asian Development Bank.
  • IAS officer Samir Kumar Sinha has been appointed as the Additional Secretary & Director General (Acquisition), Department of Defence. He is a 1994-batch officer of Assam-Meghalaya cadre.
  • CSS officer Sanjeev Kumar Jindal has been posted as the Additional Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). Jindal, a 1989-batch officer, is currently serving as the Joint Secretary under MHA.
  • IFos officer Asit Gopal has been appointed as the Additional Secretary & Financial Advisor, Ministry of Textiles. He is a 1990 batch officer of MP cadre.
  • 1993-batch IRTS officer Tripti Gurha has been appointed as the Additional Secretary, Ministry of Women and Child Development (M/o WCD). She is currently serving as the Joint Secretary, M/o WCD.
  • IAS officer Bharat Harbanslal Khera has been posted as the Additional Secretary, Department of Consumer Affairs. The 1995-batch officer is of the Himachal Pradesh cadre.
  • IA&AS officer Puja Singh Mandol, from the 1995 batch, has been appointed as the Additional Secretary, Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation. Mandol is replacing 1994-batch  IAS officer Alok Shekhar for this post.

  • IFoS officer Sanjukta Mudgal (IFoS: 1990: MP): Ministry of Culture.

  • IRS officer Navaljit Kapoor (IRS IT: 1992): Ministry of Tribal Affairs.
  • IRS officer Manoj Pandey (IRS IT: 1992): Ministry of Corporate Affairs.
  • IRS officer Rahul Navin (IRS IT: 1993): Directorate of Enforcement.
  • IFoS officer Anurag Bajpai (IFoS: 1994: MN): Department of Defence Production.
  • IPoS officer Alok Pande (IPoS: 1994): Department of Investment and Public Asset Management (DIPAM), Ministry of Finance.
  • IFoS officer Sunil Kumar (IFoS: 1995: PB): Department of Science & Technology.
  • IPS officer Hanif Qureshi (IPS: 1996: HY): Ministry of Heavy Industries.
