Mundkur S Kamath has been appointed as the Managing Director (MD) of Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL). The appointment was approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) on February 24, marking a new chapter in Kamath’s long-standing career with MRPL.
According to an order from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), his tenure as MD will be effective from the date he assumes charge. Kamath’s term will extend until his superannuation on November 30, 2027, or until further notice, whichever comes earlier.
Kamath, an esteemed alumnus of Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT) and TA Pai Management Institute (TAPMI), Manipal, has been an integral part of MRPL since July 1992. Before taking on the role of Managing Director, Kamath served as the Executive Director (Refinery) at MRPL.
Prior to this, he held the position of Group General Manager (Technical Services), showcasing his expertise and leadership in the industry. Kamath also brings a wealth of experience from his deputation at ONGC Mangalore Petrochemicals Ltd (OMPL), further enhancing his understanding of the sector.
