Arnab Goswami Appointed as CFO of Punjab & Sind Bank

Punjab & Sind Bank has appointed Arnab Goswami as its Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective from April 3, 2024, for a tenure of three years. Goswami, a qualified Chartered Accountant and Cost Accountant, brings with him over 20 years of rich experience in the banking industry, having held notable positions in various financial institutions.

Prior to joining Punjab & Sind Bank, Goswami held key roles at esteemed banks such as IndusInd Bank and ICICI Bank. His most recent position was as Vice President at Bandhan Bank, where he contributed to the bank’s growth and success.

Punjab & Sind Bank, a prominent player in the banking landscape, offers a wide array of products and services to its customers across the nation through its extensive network. With 1,561 branches and 937 ATMs, the bank has been a cornerstone of the financial sector.

In the third quarter of the financial year 2023-24, Punjab & Sind Bank reported its standalone net profit at Rs 114.31 crore, reflecting a decline of 69.4% compared to the corresponding period in the previous fiscal year. However, the bank witnessed a notable increase of 27.1% in its total income, which stood at Rs 2,852.71 crore for the quarter ending December 31, 2023.

The announcement of Arnab Goswami’s appointment as CFO has been met with positive reception, as evidenced by a 1.34% rise in the bank’s scrip on Wednesday, April 3, 2024.
