Dr. Vibha Chahal, a distinguished IAS officer of the 2012 batch from the Uttar Pradesh cadre, has been appointed as the Private Secretary to Union Minister of State for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises, Sobha Karandlaje. The appointment, which has been approved by the competent authority, comes as part of a circular issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT).
Dr. Chahal’s tenure as Private Secretary will extend until June 7, 2027, covering a five-year deputation period or on a co-terminus basis with her service to the Minister. The terms of her appointment state that it will last until she resigns from her role, or until further orders are issued, whichever occurs first.
Before this appointment, Dr. Chahal served as the Private Secretary to Dr. Bharati Pravin Pawar, the then-Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, starting in May 2022. Her transition to working with Minister Karandlaje is seen as a testament to her dedication and expertise in public service.
