IFS officer Esha Srivastava has been appointed as the Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas (MoPNG). The decision, approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, places Srivastava, a 2004-batch officer with a commendable five-year tenure, in a key position.
Her term as Joint Secretary is set to last until March 19, 2024, or until further orders, whichever comes earlier. Previously, she has held pivotal positions, serving in the Permanent Delegation of India to UNESCO in Paris, as well as at the Indian High Commission or Embassy in Sri Lanka and Bhutan. She has held roles such as Under Secretary, Deputy Secretary (Europe West Division), and Director. In her most recent assignment, she served as the Deputy Chief of Mission in Thimphu.
