Praveen Mal Khanooja Re-appointed as Government Nominee Director of ONGC

On September 19, 2025, the government re-appointed Praveen Mal Khanooja as the Government Nominee Director on the Board of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC). The appointment is for a period of three years effective from 22 September 2025, or until further orders.

Khanooja is an IAS officer of the 1994 batch, from the Indian Audit & Accounts Service (IA&AS). Prior to this role, he was serving as an Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas. His academic credentials include a B. Tech in Chemical Engineering and an M. Tech in Management & Systems. During his service, he has held various audit and accounts related roles—in defense audit, railways audit, and within field and CAG (Comptroller & Auditor General) headquarters postings.
