Ministry of Health & Family Welfare Launches Intensified Special NCDs Screening Campaign

The Ministry of Health & Family Welfare has launched an Intensified Special Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) Campaign today, aiming for comprehensive screening of all individuals aged 30 years and above for prevalent NCDs, including Diabetes, Hypertension, and three common cancers—Oral, Breast, and Cervical. Running from February 20 to March 31, 2025, this nationwide initiative seeks to ensure early detection, timely intervention, and improved healthcare outcomes.

The campaign will be executed across Ayushman Arogya Mandirs (AAMs) and various healthcare facilities under the National Programme for Prevention and Control of Non-Communicable Diseases (NP-NCD). This large-scale initiative underscores the Government of India’s unwavering commitment to preventive healthcare and universal access to quality medical services under the Ayushman Bharat initiative.

Key Features of the Campaign

1. Door-to-Door Outreach: Trained ASHAs, ANMs, and frontline healthcare workers will conduct home visits to maximize screening coverage and reach vulnerable populations.
2. Availability of Essential Supplies: States and Union Territories (UTs) will ensure an uninterrupted supply of BP monitors, glucometers, and necessary medications at all designated healthcare centers.
3. Real-Time Data Monitoring: Screening, treatment, and follow-up data will be updated daily on the NP-NCD Portal, enhancing transparency and accountability.
4. Multi-Level Coordination: Dedicated nodal officers at facility, block, district, and state levels will oversee seamless execution.
5. Daily Progress Review: States and UTs will submit daily updates to the Ministry by 6 PM, facilitating continuous monitoring and technical assistance.
