Senior IPS officer Nalin Prabhat and Sapna Tewari have been appointed to key positions, as announced by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT).
Nalin Prabhat, a distinguished member of the 1992 batch of the Andhra Pradesh cadre, has been appointed as the Director-General of the National Security Guard (NSG), the country’s premier counter-terrorism and counter-hijack force.
Presently serving as the Additional Director-General in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) stationed in Jammu and Kashmir, Prabhat’s tenure will extend until his retirement on August 31, 2028.
Simultaneously, IPS officer Sapna Tewari, hailing from the 1992-batch of the Odisha cadre, has been appointed as the Special Director of the Intelligence Bureau (IB). The two-year tenure for Tewari commences upon assuming office or until her retirement on April 30, 2026, in accordance with the DoPT order.
