To advance digital inclusion within the MSME sector, the Quality Council of India (QCI) and Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) have jointly unveiled the DigiReady Certification (DRC) portal. This initiative aims to evaluate and certify the digital readiness of MSME entities, facilitating their seamless integration into the digital marketplace.
The DRC portal, developed in collaboration with ONDC, provides MSMEs with an online self-assessment tool to gauge their preparedness for becoming sellers on the ONDC platform. By leveraging this platform, MSMEs can enhance their digital capabilities and expand their business potential in the digital realm.
Designed to streamline the seller journey, the DRC portal evaluates various aspects of digital readiness, including documentation for online operations, proficiency in utilizing software and technology, integration with existing digitized workflows, and efficient management of orders and catalogue offerings.
Jaxay Shah, Chairperson of QCI, emphasized the alignment of the DRC initiative with the vision of the Hon’ble Prime Minister to promote digital transactions and sensitize villages. He highlighted its resonance with the objectives of the recently launched FIRST (Forum for Internet Retailers, Sellers, and Traders), underscoring the pivotal role of DRC in empowering MSMEs and fostering inclusive e-commerce.
T Koshy, MD & CEO of ONDC, hailed the DigiReady certification (DRC) as a transformative step for MSMEs, equipping them with essential digital capabilities to navigate the evolving e-commerce landscape. He stressed that DRC accelerates the integration of MSMEs into the digital network while amplifying their potential to thrive in the digital economy.
The launch of the DRC portal signifies a concerted effort by QCI and ONDC to foster digital inclusion and empower MSMEs for sustained growth in the digital era.
