India Emerging as a Global AI Leader, Thanks to Visionary Policies: FM Nirmala Sitharaman

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman highlighted India’s strong foundation for innovation and technology-driven growth at AI Bharat Shakti, the pre-summit event for the India AI Impact Summit 2026. She emphasized that progressive policymaking and dynamic governance are positioning India as a global leader in artificial intelligence (AI).

FM Sitharaman praised PM Narendra Modi’s leadership since 2014, which has strengthened governance, created innovation-friendly ecosystems, and accelerated digital transformation. She also acknowledged Andhra Pradesh CM N. Chandrababu Naidu for promoting technology-led growth, noting that Andhra Pradesh is ideal for hosting India’s first AI hub.

“The synergy between visionary policies and proactive governance is driving India’s digital growth, creating healthy competition among states, and moving the country closer to its goal of a ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047,” she said.
