The Telangana government has initiated the process for the promotion of IPS officers from the 1994 batch to the esteemed rank of Director General of Police (DGP). The General Administration Department (GAD) has forwarded the promotion file to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for approval.
The officers being considered for promotion include B Shivadhar Reddy, currently serving as the Intelligence Bureau chief; K Sreenivasa Reddy, the Hyderabad police commissioner; Apte Vinayak Prabhakar, who is on deputation to the Intelligence Bureau; Abhilasha Bisht, the additional director general of police at the TS Police Academy; and Shikha Goel, the director of the Telangana Cyber Security Bureau and CID chief.
These officers are currently holding the rank of Additional Director General in the cadre. The promotions come as two DGP rank positions have recently become vacant. Sandeep Shandilya, a 1993 batch IPS officer, recently retired, and Rajiv Ratan, a 1991 batch IPS officer, tragically passed away. The Telangana government is swiftly moving forward to fill these key positions, ensuring the continued leadership and effective administration of law enforcement in the state.
