UP Government Grants Extension to IAS Awanish Kumar Awasthi as Advisor to CM

The Uttar Pradesh government has approved a second extension for IAS Awanish Kumar Awasthi, from the 1987 batch, to continue his role as Advisor to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. This extension, granted by the Finance Department, will see Awasthi serve in his advisory capacity from March 1, 2024, to February 28, 2025.

Awasthi, who retired on August 31, 2022, was initially appointed after the UP governor sanctioned the creation of a temporary ‘advisor’ position for Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
