A group of 28 international bureaucrats from the ‘Digitalization & Developing Human Capabilities Programme,’ conducted by the National Institute of Labour Economics Research and Development (NILERD), visited the National e-Governance Division (NeGD) to gain insights into India’s groundbreaking digital transformation journey. The delegation represented 17 countries and aimed to learn from India’s successful implementation of digital initiatives.
During the visit, the group was introduced to key initiatives under the Digital India program, including the AADHAAR unique identification system, Digital Payment platforms, DigiLocker for secure document storage, the unified mobile governance platform UMANG, and Bhashini, which focuses on language processing. These initiatives highlight India’s commitment to leveraging technology for enhancing governance and public service delivery.
The session also covered various capacity-building programs for government officers, which are designed to equip them with the skills necessary to drive and manage digital transformation projects in their respective countries.
The visit underscored the global interest in India’s digital initiatives and its potential as a model for other nations aiming to enhance their digital infrastructure and governance capabilities. The interaction provided an opportunity for the participants to exchange ideas and best practices in the realm of digital governance.
