The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) on Thursday recommended Kota Ravi for the post of Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) at Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), one of India’s premier defence and aerospace Public Sector Undertakings.
A total of eight candidates were interviewed as part of the selection process. Subject to requisite clearances and final approval from the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), Ravi is set to take over as CMD, HAL, succeeding Dr. D K Sunil, who is scheduled to retire on April 30, 2026.
Currently, Ravi serves as Director (Operations) at HAL, where he has been closely involved in production management, aerospace manufacturing operations, and execution of key defence aviation programmes.
His expected appointment is seen as significant for HAL as the company continues to play a central role in India’s indigenous defence manufacturing, aircraft production, and aerospace technology development initiatives.
