IAS Arshad Ayub Sheikh Takes Charge as Deputy Secretary, DoPT

Arshad Ayub Sheikh, a 2013-batch IAS officer of the Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram and Union Territory (AGMUT) cadre, has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) under the Central Staffing Scheme. His tenure will extend until October 31, 2028, or until his superannuation, whichever comes earlier.

An official order issued by the DoPT confirmed his appointment, stating that Sheikh will assume charge on the date of taking over or as per further instructions. His central deputation was recommended by the Ministry of Home Affairs, reflecting the government’s confidence in his administrative capabilities.

Prior to this assignment, Sheikh served as the Inspector General of Registration in Jammu and Kashmir, where he played a pivotal role in enhancing administrative processes related to land registration and governance. His contributions have been instrumental in streamlining registration systems and ensuring efficient service delivery.
