Star Hospitals Appoints Rajendra Kshirsagar as Chief Information Officer

Star Hospitals, Hyderabad, has appointed Rajendra Kshirsagar as its Chief Information Officer (CIO), a role he assumed in August 2026. Bringing more than three decades of experience in information technology and healthcare systems, Kshirsagar will contribute to the hospital’s technology strategy, digital infrastructure and ongoing efforts to strengthen technology-enabled healthcare delivery.

Kshirsagar began his career in 1990 as a computer programmer, developing business applications for inventory management, payroll, production management and management information systems. He subsequently held IT leadership roles in the hospitality sector before moving into healthcare in December 2007 as Head of IT at Breach Candy Hospital Trust, Mumbai, where he led the implementation of a new Hospital Information System (HIS).

His healthcare technology experience includes leadership roles at Hinduja Healthcare Surgical, Mumbai, and Meitra Hospital, Kozhikode, where he worked on technology-enabled hospital environments featuring digital documentation, Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS), Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and integrations across clinical and business applications. He has also served at Holy Family Hospital, Mumbai, Sri Balaji Action Medical Institute, New Delhi, and Rajagiri Hospital, Kochi, in senior IT leadership positions.

Throughout his career, Kshirsagar has worked across IT infrastructure management, hospital information systems, project implementation and the integration of clinical and administrative technologies. His experience with paperless hospital environments and complex HIS implementations provides a strong foundation for supporting the evolving digital needs of healthcare institutions.

At Star Hospitals, his appointment comes as technology continues to play a central role in hospital operations, clinical workflows and patient experience. His leadership is expected to support the hospital’s digital development, strengthen its technology infrastructure and enable more connected systems for healthcare professionals and patients.
