IPS Vandita Pandey Appointed as Director of Department of Youth Affairs

IPS Vandita Pandey, a 2011-batch officer of the Tamil Nadu cadre, has been appointed as the Director of the Department of Youth Affairs under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. Her appointment, made under the Central Staffing Scheme, will be for a tenure of five years as per the terms of her deputation.

The Department of Youth Affairs plays a crucial role in policy formulation and implementation of programs aimed at youth development and empowerment. It oversees key initiatives such as the National Service Scheme and the Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development which focus on leadership, skill-building, and community engagement among young individuals.
