The Government of India’s Bhavishya portal, an advanced Pension Sanction and Tracking System, has made significant strides in ensuring a seamless and efficient pension process for retiring employees. Developed by the Department of Pension & Pensioners’ Welfare, Bhavishya aims to simplify pension-related formalities and provide real-time tracking of pension sanctions and payments.
Key Achievements of Bhavishya:
- 99 Ministries/Departments, including apex bodies and Union Territories (UTs), have been successfully onboarded.
- 1932 offices with 9297 Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) are actively using the platform.
- A total of 275,151 Pension Payment Orders (PPOs) have been issued.
- 26,167 employees are set to retire in the next 12 months, with Bhavishya streamlining their transition.
Bhavishya empowers retiring officials by providing an array of digital services, including e-PPO (Electronic Pension Payment Order) accessible via DigiLocker, a mobile application, and integration with e-HRMS (Electronic Human Resource Management System). The platform also facilitates e-signing, form simplification, and allows retirees to download Form 16 effortlessly.
The government envisions Bhavishya as a critical initiative to ensure an active and dignified life for pensioners. By leveraging digital infrastructure, the system minimizes bureaucratic delays, enhances transparency, and reduces paperwork, making the pension process smoother and more efficient.
With its continued expansion and technological advancements, Bhavishya stands as a testament to India’s commitment to good governance and digital transformation in public administration.
