In a significant administrative move, the Punjab government on Wednesday ordered the transfer and posting of 6 IAS officers, including deputy commissioners from key districts in the Majha region, with immediate effect.
Vishesh Sarangal, currently Chief Administrator of the Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA), SAS Nagar, has been appointed Special Secretary, Good Governance and Information Technology, and Director, Good Governance and IT. He will also serve as Chief Executive Officer of the Punjab State e-Governance Society.
Sakshi Sawhney, formerly Deputy Commissioner of Amritsar, has been named Chief Administrator of GMADA. Her services have been placed at the disposal of the Department of Housing and Urban Development, according to an official Personnel Department order.
Aditya Uppal, previously Deputy Commissioner and Commissioner of Municipal Corporation, Pathankot, has been posted as Deputy Commissioner of Gurdaspur, succeeding Dalwinderjit Singh, who has moved to Amritsar as Deputy Commissioner.
Pallavi, who held multiple roles including Special Secretary, Water Supply and Sanitation, and Special Secretary, Power and New & Renewable Energy, has been posted as Deputy Commissioner of Pathankot, in addition to her responsibilities as Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Pathankot.
Harpreet Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) of Fatehgarh Sahib, has been assigned to take over the responsibilities vacated by Pallavi.
The reshuffle highlights the state government’s focus on strengthening administrative efficiency and governance across strategic districts.
