R. Zarzosanga Appointed Chief Electoral Officer of Mizoram by Election Commission of India

The Election Commission of India has appointed R. Zarzosanga as the new Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Mizoram. A 2007-batch IAS officer of the AGMUT cadre, Zarzosanga succeeds Garima Gupta in the key electoral administration role.

Zarzosanga’s appointment comes following the publication of Mizoram’s final electoral roll under the 2026 Special Intensive Revision. He will oversee the state’s electoral administration and related responsibilities as Chief Electoral Officer.
