Monuments in Lucknow set to get facelift under Smart City Mission

A set of improvements will be made to an array of protected monuments in the Lucknow under the Smart City Mission. This decision was taken in a meeting chaired by Chief Secretary, Durga Shankar Mishra, and attended by the Municipal Commissioner and other top officials of the Department of Tourism & Culture, Irrigation, Archeology, Housing Development Authority, Lucknow development Authority, Lucknow Municipal Corporation.

Durga Shankar Mishra inspected the Gulistan-e-Kothi, Chhatar Manzil Complex, and Darshan Vilas under Kaiserbagh Heritage Zone.

Principal Secretary, Tourism and Culture, Mukesh Meshram said an assessment of heritage monuments will be conducted by conservation architecture experts to get a detailed analysis of the strength and life of the sites before renovating them for adaptive use. We look forward to reusing these structures in some or the other way.
