Centre Launches Mobile App to Promote Education for All

New Delhi: To promote basic literacy, the center has launched the logo and slogan-Jan Jan Sakshar, as well as the ULLAS mobile application for the Nav Bharat Saksharta Karyakram at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. This mobile application, ULLAS, represents a significant milestone in utilizing technology to enable widespread access to basic literacy. A volunteer-based initiative, Ullas has online learning materials and resources for all age groups. In line with the vision of NEP it will cover all aspects of 21st century education, including critical life skills.

Mobile App to Promote Education for All -The ULLAS app, which is user-friendly and interactive, can be downloaded on both Android and iOS devices, serving as a digital gateway for learners to access a diverse range of learning resources through the DIKSHA portal of NCERT.

This app is designed to facilitate the registration of learners and volunteers, allowing for self-registration or registration through surveyors. It will functional literacy, vocational skills, and essential life skills such as financial literacy, legal literacy, digital literacy, and citizen empowerment for active participation in nation-building. Moreover, it fosters a culture of continuous learning and knowledge-sharing within communities across India.

The ULLAS (Understanding Lifelong Learning for All in Society) initiative aims to transform education and literacy nationwide by creating an inclusive learning ecosystem that reaches all individuals. It addresses the gaps in basic literacy and essential life skills, providing education, digital literacy, and financial literacy for citizens aged 15 and above who were unable to attend school. This initiative is being implemented through voluntary efforts.

Under this scheme student volunteers will be incentivized through various means such as receiving credits in school or university, certificates of appreciation, and even felicitations.
