7th pay commission: DA hike announcement by Government soon

The government is expected to make Holi special for the central government employees by making an announcement regarding 7th pay commission Dearness Allowance (DA) hike. According to the reports by the media, a cabinet meeting regarding an increase in Dearness Allowance for the employees of central government may be scheduled soon.

As per the reports, it is projected that the Dearness Allowance may increase by an additional 3 percent from the current 31 percent to 34 percent. The big decision on the increase of DA could come on March 16. It has been also stated that the central government employees will be paid full payment of the new Dearness Allowance along with March salary after the festival of Holi.

The Consumer Price Index for industrial workers has seen a decline of one point in the index for December 2021, thus the index has surged and reached 361 points.  The 12-month index average for DA is calculated as 351.33. So, based on this average index, the Dearness Allowance stands at 34.04%.
