Edtech firm AppliedRoots acquired by Scaler for $50 million

Scaler has bought an edtech startup AppliedRoots for $50 to promote and expand online courses. Scaler is a startup offering upskilling courses to working professionals. It has acquired AppliedRoots with an aim to promote its artificial intelligence (AI), data science, and machine learning courses. AppliedRoots is recognized for its flagship Applied AI course.

Post the acquisition, the six co-founders of AppliedRoots will be joining Scaler and managing and leading various projects. Some teams of AppliedRoots will work with the Scaler DS&ML business vertical, while some will work on building content vertical.
