New Delhi: In furtherance of the Digital India initiative, the Indian Army has inaugurated its First Permanent Aadhaar Enrolment Centre (PAEC) at 1 CBPO, New Delhi today. This Permanent Centre is seamlessly connected with 48 Field Post Offices and will provide Aadhaar-related services for all defense personnel and their dependents. This significant development will effectively alleviate the challenges and streamline the process of Aadhaar enrolment for personnel stationed in remote areas.
The PAEC will facilitate Aadhaar-related services, such as enrolment and updation, for tri-services personnel (both Defence and civil) as well as their dependents through their Field Post Offices (FPOs) in 48 designated locations across the country.
The establishment of PAEC services has been made possible with the immense support provided by the Department of Posts (DoP) and UIDAI, who have contributed training, equipment, and technical support. These 48 PAECs will be operational in both Field and Peace locations.
The Director General Postal Services & QMG have conveyed their best wishes to the Army Postal Service Corps for this new service, expressing their hopes for expansion in the near future to include more FPOs, enabling troops to conveniently access user-friendly government services in their vicinity.
The QMG, Addl DG APS, Officers, and Other Ranks of APS have expressed their sincere gratitude to DoP for their initiative in introducing the Aadhaar service in the Army through FPOs.
