Arun Kumar Sarangi Appointed as Chairman of Odisha Public Service Commission

Senior IPS officer Arun Kumar Sarangi (IPS: 1990: OD) has been appointed as the Chairman of the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC). Sarangi, who currently holds the position of Special Director General of Police (Training) and Director of the Biju Patnaik State Police Academy (BPSPA), will serve as OPSC Chairman for a term of six years.

Sarangi, who turns 62 on July 25, 2027, will be able to serve as OPSC Chairman for a duration of two years and 10 months after his retirement. His tenure marks a notable milestone in his distinguished career, which includes serving as the in-charge Director General of Police (DGP) of Odisha from December 31, 2023, to August 16, 2024.

Sarangi succeeds Satyajit Mohanty (IPS: 1988: OD), who previously held the position of OPSC Chairman and served until he reached the age of 62.
