New Delhi: The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) unveiled the “Adopt a Heritage 2.0” programme, along with the Indian Heritage App and e-Permission Portal, during a ceremony held at the Samvet Auditorium, IGNCA in New Delhi.
Under the Adopt a Heritage 2.0″ programme:
- ASI invites corporate stakeholders to enhance the amenities at the monuments by utilizing their CSR funds.
- The program is an improved version of the earlier scheme introduced in 2017 and clearly specifies the amenities desired for different monuments according to the AMASR Act 1958.
- The stakeholders have the opportunity to apply for adopting a monument or specific amenities at a monument using a dedicated web portal available at www.indianheritage.gov.in.
- This portal provides comprehensive information about the monuments open for adoption, along with a gap analysis and a financial estimate of the required amenities.
- The ‘Adopt a Heritage 2.0’ initiative aims to foster collaboration with corporate stakeholders, enabling them to contribute to the preservation of these monuments for future generations.
- The selection process will be conducted after thorough research and consultations with various stakeholders, considering the economic and developmental opportunities associated with each monument.
- The appointed stakeholders will be responsible for developing, offering, and maintaining facilities in the areas of hygiene, accessibility, safety, and knowledge.
- Initially, their term of appointment will be five years, with the potential for an additional five-year extension.
‘Indian Heritage’ App
- The mobile app is designed to provide users with a user-friendly experience while showcasing the rich heritage monuments of India.
- This interactive app includes detailed information and captivating photographs of monuments, as well as a comprehensive list of public amenities available at each location. The monuments are organized by state, allowing users to easily explore the cultural wonders of each region.
- Furthermore, the app utilizes geo-tagging to accurately locate the monuments and offers a feedback mechanism for citizens to share their thoughts and suggestions.
- The app will be launched in a phased manner, with the ticketed monuments taking precedence in Phase I, followed by the remaining monuments.
An e-permission Portal
- An URL, www.asipermissionportal.gov.in, has been launched for the purpose of seeking permission for photography, filming, and developmental projects on monuments.
- This professional and informative portal aims to expedite the process of obtaining various permissions, effectively addressing operational and logistical bottlenecks.
