Ayushman Bhav Campaign Achieves Milestone with Over 10 Crore Footfall in Health Melas

In a historic initiative aimed at extending healthcare services to the farthest reaches of India, President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, virtually launched the ‘Ayushman Bhav’ campaign and Ayushman Bhava Portal from Gandhinagar, Gujarat, on September 13, 2023. Marking a significant achievement, the combined footfall in Health Melas across the country has surpassed the 10-crore mark, with over 12.6 lakh Health Melas organized since the campaign’s inception on September 17, 2023.

The ‘Ayushman Bhav’ campaign, launched to deliver healthcare services to every corner of the nation, has been instrumental in creating awareness and providing essential health services directly to the people. Health Melas, initiated since September 17, have played a crucial role in facilitating access to Ayushman Cards, generating ABHA IDs, and raising awareness about vital health schemes and disease conditions, including non-communicable diseases, tuberculosis, sickle cell disease, oral cancer, breast cancer, cervical cancer, and cataract.

Achieving a noteworthy milestone on December 16, 2023, the cumulative footfall in Health Melas surpassed 10 crores, reflecting the widespread impact and success of the ‘Ayushman Bhav’ initiative. Since the launch of the campaign, over 17 crore individuals have undergone screening for seven types of diseases, including TB, hypertension, diabetes, oral cancer, breast cancer, cervical cancer, and cataract.

The Community Health Centres (CHCs) have played a crucial role, with 34,107 Health Melas completed so far, registering a total of 1,37,84,954 individuals. The ‘Ayushman Bhav’ initiative has led to the creation of 3,70,36,445 Ayushman Cards, with an additional 4,78,168 cards generated in the week ending December 16, 2023. The generation of ABHA (Health ID) Cards has reached a cumulative figure of 4,38,93,025.

Underlining the success of the campaign, a total of 1,10,298 Ayushman Sabhas have been organized and reported since September 17, 2023, further enhancing community engagement and awareness about healthcare initiatives.

The ‘Ayushman Bhav’ initiative embodies a set of interventions, including ‘Ayushman – Apke Dwar 3.0,’ ‘Ayushman Sabhas,’ ‘Ayushman Melas,’ and Medical Camps by Medical Colleges at CHCs. The campaign is aligned with Government’s commitment to ensuring healthcare services reach every village and town, enabling access for all in society.
