Bhupender Gupta Recommended as CMD of NHPC by PESB

The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has recommended Bhupender Gupta for the coveted post of Chairman and Managing Director of NHPC Limited, India’s largest hydropower development company under the Ministry of Power.

Currently serving as Director (Technical) at THDC India Limited—a subsidiary of state-run power major NTPC—Gupta was selected following a rigorous interview process held on Wednesday. He was among nine candidates who appeared before the PESB panel for the final selection round.

Headquartered in Faridabad, NHPC plays a pivotal role in the country’s renewable energy strategy, with a strong portfolio of hydroelectric projects and ongoing diversification into non-conventional energy sources.
