The Public Enterprise Selection Board (PESB) has selected Brijendra Pratap Singh for the position of Chairman-cum-Managing Director of National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO), a Schedule ‘A’ Central Public Sector Undertaking (CPSU). Singh, currently serving as Director in-charge of Burnpur and Durgapur Steel Plants at Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), emerged as the top candidate among six individuals interviewed for the role.
Singh’s appointment is subject to requisite clearances and approval from the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC). If approved, he will succeed Sridhar Patra, who is set to retire on October 31, 2024.
