Cabinet Approves Key Appointments and Repatriations at Joint Secretary Level

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has announced several significant appointments and premature repatriations at the Joint Secretary/Joint Secretary equivalent level, effective immediately. These appointments, all at Level 14 of the Pay Matrix, are as follows:

 Sachidanand Prasad, IP&TA&FS (1994), has been appointed as Secretary, National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM) under the Ministry of AYUSH. His tenure will last until his superannuation on 31 December 2027 or until further orders, whichever is earlier. This appointment cancels the previous appointment of Binod Kumar, ICAS (1993), as per DoPT Order No. 33/03/2024-EO(SM-I) dated 9 February 2024.

Nitin Kumar Yadav, IAS (HY:2000), has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Commerce. His tenure will extend for seven years up to 12 September 2028 or until further orders, whichever is earlier. He succeeds Shri M. Balaji, IAS (TN:2005).

Kamlesh Kumar Mishra, IRTS (2003), has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Sixteenth Finance Commission under the Department of Economic Affairs. His tenure will last for five years or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

The premature repatriation of Mukta Shekhar, IRAS (1994), Joint Secretary, Ministry of Heavy Industries, to her parent cadre has been approved. Pradeep Kumar, IP&TA&FS (1995), designated as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Heavy Industries, for a tenure lasting until his superannuation on 31 March 2026 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Shersha, CSS, has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Minority Affairs. His tenure will extend until his superannuation on 31 October 2025 or until further orders, whichever is earlier. He succeeds Shri Shahnawaz Alam, IP&TA&FS (1994).

Pankaj Yadav, IAS (HY:2001), has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Rural Development. His tenure will last for five years up to 31 October 2027 or until further orders, whichever is earlier. He succeeds Shri Karma Zimpa Bhutia, IFOS (JH:1997).

Vinod Kumar Tripathi, IRSE (Civil) (1995), has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Steel. His tenure will extend until his superannuation on 31 December 2027 or until further orders, whichever is earlier. He succeeds Ms. Ruchika Chaudhry Govil, IRS (IT:1990).

In view of declaration of elections to the Lok Sabha, if any of the officers mentioned in the instant communication are on election related duty, they may kindly be relieved after due clearance from the Election Commission of India to take up their new assignment, the circular stated.
