Chennai: IIT Madras and Indian IT company CSM Tech have teamed up to collaboratively develop the world’s fastest autonomously driven electric race car by 2025.
CSM Tech has entered into a memorandum of understanding with IIT Madras to drive the initiative of developing a revolutionary racecar supported by indigenous capabilities.
The collaboration between CSM, a technology company, and IIT Madras, an esteemed academic and research institution, brings forth numerous benefits such as the sharing of expertise and resources, cost reduction and risk mitigation, accelerated research and development, standardization and interoperability, policy advocacy, ecosystem development, and knowledge exchange, as stated by the company. Industry partnerships play a vital role in the design, development, and adoption of electric vehicles (EVs).
CSM Tech, a dynamic motorsports team managed by the enthusiastic students of IIT Madras. Consisting of more than 40 students from varying disciplines at IIT Madras, Raftar is driven by a passion for automotive engineering and motorsports.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Priyadarshi Nanu Pany, the Founder of CSM Tech, Lagna Panda, the company’s Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), and l Manu Santhanam, the Dean of Industry Contribution and Sponsored Research at IIT-Madras.
