Bard, a conversational generative artificial intelligence chatbot developed by Google, has gained new features and functions in its latest round of updates. Google has announced Bard’s biggest expansion to date by launching more customized features such as response controls, linguistic knowledge, and the ability to respond with spoken word in addition to text.
Users can interact with Bard in new places and with over 40 languages including Arabic, Chinese, German, Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Urdu, and many more.
You can also now access Bard in more places, including Brazil and across Europe. As part of our bold and responsible approach to AI, we’ve proactively engaged with experts, policymakers and privacy regulators on this expansion. And as we bring Bard to more regions and languages over time, we’ll continue to use our AI Principles as a guide, incorporate user feedback, and take steps to protect people’s privacy and data, wrote Jack Krawczyk, Product Lead, Bard and Amarnag Subramanya, Vice President, Engineering, Bard in recent Blog Post.
Users can now listen to Bard’s responses or read them. This is especially helpful if you want to hear the correct pronunciation of a word or listen to a poem or script, believe Krawczyk and Subramanya. Users can simply enter a prompt and select the sound icon to hear Bard’s answers. This feature is now live in over 40 languages.
In addition, Bard’s responses can be easily adjusted by changing the tone and style of Bard’s responses to five different options: simple, long, short, professional, or casual. Currently, this feature is live in English and will expand to new languages soon.
Features like Pin and rename conversations in case the user wants to revisit prompts; exporting Bard- generated Python code to Replit, in addition to Collab; sharing responses or creative ideas with a network of friends or colleagues; and using images in your prompts to get more information about it are available.
