Government Extends Tenure of Ajay Bhadoo and P. Hemalatha in Commerce Ministry

The Government of India has approved the extension of additional charge tenures for two senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, according to an official notification issued recently.

Ajay Bhadoo (IAS: 1999: GJ), Additional Secretary, Department of Commerce, will continue to hold the additional charge of Director General, Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), for a further period from October 21, 2025, to January 20, 2026.

Similarly, P. Hemalatha (IAS: 2000: KN), Development Commissioner, Cochin Special Economic Zone (SEZ), will continue to hold the additional charge of Secretary (Joint Secretary Level), Spices Board, for an extended period of 3 months, from October 24, 2025, to January 23, 2026.

The extensions ensure continuity in key leadership positions across critical departments of the Ministry, supporting India’s trade facilitation, export promotion, and industrial development efforts.
