GPCSSI 2025 Launched in Gurugram to Empower Youth in Cybersecurity

The 12th edition of the Gurugram Police Cyber Security Summer Internship (GPCSSI 2025) was officially launched in Gurugram with an ambitious mission to boost cyber awareness among students and professionals across the country.

Inaugurated by Gaurav Rajpurohit, DCP East, the event drew enthusiastic participation, with over 12,000 applications received for the prestigious month-long internship. Out of these, 1,100 individuals were selected for the programme, marking one of the largest and most diverse batches in GPCSSI history. The cohort includes 550 Cyber Warriors—comprising undergraduate, postgraduate students, and working professionals—and 550 Cyber Ambassadors—students from classes 9 to 12—reflecting pan-India representation.

Addressing the gathering, DCP Rajpurohit highlighted the ongoing shift from traditional crimes to the rapidly evolving digital threat landscape. He emphasized the urgent need to equip the younger generation with the knowledge and tools to defend against cyber threats. “Our interns are not just learners—they are the Cyber Ambassadors and Cyber Warriors of tomorrow,” he stated, encouraging them to spread cyber hygiene within their communities.

The inaugural session also featured insights from ACP Cybercrime Preeyanshu Dewan and renowned cyber security expert Dr Rakshit Tandon. Dr Tandon reflected on the programme’s 12-year journey, sharing inspiring video testimonials from past interns who are now thriving in the cyber security domain.

Over the next four weeks, selected interns will undergo rigorous hands-on training covering cyber hygiene practices, digital investigations, and tool development. The curriculum also includes guest lectures by leading cyber security experts from across India. The programme will conclude with a grand closing ceremony scheduled for July 2, 2025.

With the digital landscape becoming increasingly complex, GPCSSI 2025 aims to create a new generation of informed, skilled cyber defenders ready to take on tomorrow’s challenges.
