ECIL & PROENGIN SAS Partner for Indigenous Manufacturing of Advanced Chemical Warfare Agent Detectors

In a significant step towards strengthening India’s self-reliance in strategic defence technologies, Electronics Corporation of India Limited (ECIL) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PROENGIN SAS, France for the indigenous manufacturing of Flame Photometry-based Portable Chemical Warfare Agent Detectors and Threat Detection Hub (TDH) boxes.

The MoU was formally exchanged between Dr. Anesh Kumar Sharma, OS, Director (Technical), ECIL, and Emmanuel Delsart, Vice-President, PROENGIN SAS, France. The agreement was signed by Commodore Neeraj Uday, VSM (Retd), General Manager (HSS & SED), ECIL, and Emmanuel Delsart.

The signing ceremony was attended by Proteek Kumar Chakraborty, Director (Finance), ECIL; Raghavendra Rao, General Manager, PROENGIN SAS; and other senior officials from both organisations.

Through this collaboration, ECIL and PROENGIN SAS aim to enhance business cooperation in CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear) systems and solutions. As part of the first phase, the partnership will focus on indigenous manufacturing of TDH boxes and FPD-based chemical detectors, along with joint business development initiatives.

This alliance marks a pivotal move in India’s efforts to bolster its strategic electronics and defence manufacturing ecosystem, aligning with the national vision of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’. The cooperation will involve knowledge sharing, capacity building, and adoption of global best practices in CBRN technologies, paving the way for advanced homeland security and defence readiness.
