Ahmedabad: Gujarat is gearing up to host the G20 Health Ministers’ Meeting from August 17 to 19, 2023. This significant gathering will bring global health leaders and stakeholders together as part of India’s visionary G20 Presidency. The event will feature a distinguished lineup of esteemed dignitaries, health experts, and policymakers from across the globe.
The event is expected to attract participation from more than 30 Health Ministers who will represent G20 countries and other invited nations. These delegates will gather to discuss and deliberate on pressing health challenges, explore innovative solutions, and strengthen collaborative efforts.
This summit aims to cultivate political commitment and promote evidence-based action in the field of traditional medicine. With its significant role in providing healthcare to millions globally, traditional medicine will be thoroughly examined and assessed as a powerful means of addressing health and well- being needs.
With a diverse range of engagement groups, working groups, and meetings, this event aims to represent the interests of the Global South nations within the G20 framework. The central theme of “One Earth, One Family, One Future” encapsulates India’s philosophy of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam.
A highlight of the meeting will involve the formal signing of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and agreements between international delegates and representatives from various sectors, including business’, government entities, and industry associations.
The meeting will have the participation of various stakeholders including 167 private hospitals, 125 medical facilitators, and 64 government hospitals. Panel discussions, roundtables, buyer-seller meets, and exhibitions will be attended by international delegates, which consist of government representatives, hospitals, medical facilitators, insurance providers, and start-ups.
Along with the official proceedings, foreign Health Ministers and delegates will have the opportunity to tour various hospitals in Gujarat, where they can gain insights into both modern medicine and Ayush practices.
